Bad Kids
Today, I hear more and more questions from people wondering "what is wrong with kids these days?" This question has been asked for decades but today, its a REALLY good question and I am going to answer it from my point of view.
As a parent, do you wonder why you are making your child wait until they are 18 to get their driving permit? Its probably a good call because you have that parental instinct that tells you they arent ready.
Here's the bigger question..."Why aren't they ready?"
Why is there a movement to raise the age of legal driving to 18 instead of 16?
We, as human beings are genetically no different than we were 50 years ago but our standards and effort in raising kids is pathetic. I cant even find a date to compare it too because with time, each generation of PARENTS are doing a worse job than the one before it. There is no historical record to judge us by that even compares!
Driving at 18 or 20 and we complain they wont move out of the house until they are 30.
God gave us parents to teach us right from wrong. Babies are born, by nature, with a survival instinct that tells them to throw a huge fit at anything that doesnt go their way. Our job as parents is to teach such younglings that things dont always go their way and sometimes such education has to be a little harsh to get the message across.
Babies turn to toddlers who adjust their reactions to such education in hopes they can out think the parent and still get what they want. In some homes, it works while the toddler has to wait until they are young teens to try again.
They keep trying, constantly testing the boundaries to see how far they can go.
The resolve of the parent has a huge impact on whether or not society deals with an adult who has the maturity level of a 3 year old or a genuine Adult.
When failure happens in this department, we look to find an excuse. To lessen the guilt of our own lazy parenting we toss our kids to the Psychiatric folks who immediately label your unraised child with a condition known as Attention Deficit Disorder....otherwise known as LPS....or Lazy Parenting Syndrome!
Depending on whether or not this diagnoses ends up with the kid on drugs, or if they just go unchecked..we get an ADULT with the same understanding of the world as that 3 year old.
If you give a 3 year old child the same physical ability as an adult, they would murder you in cold blood for not giving them the snack they wanted, or for making them go to bed before they were ready, or for not buying them that toy at the store.
God gives parents a physical advantage so we can teach them right from wrong with no fear of being killed by our own kids.
When we fail to do this effectively, we end up with grown kids who will KILL for the simplest of reasons.
They grow up expecting to be #1 and when they get the reality check that they are only 1 in 6 billion, it doesn't set very well and they lash out, usually with fatal results.
Enter the cops and teachers...who have to deal with the kids you didnt raise..the ones who are out there demanding the world conform to their vision...you get some serious problems.
Teachers USED to demand more respect from us than our parents. They in turn were respected because the parents did their job and taught the kid what respect meant. NOT ANYMORE.
Teachers are quitting their jobs. The kids are out of control, have no respect and the classroom has turned into the playground.
They graduate school only because the school system is afraid to flunk anyone and lose funding from our corrupt government...and because they are happy as hell to get your kid out of their school.
The next stage? The cops get to deal with them!
When cops meet your failed child the results are usually deadly...if you are lucky your child lives to see a judge. If you aren't lucky, you have a dead child and a cop who is being lynched on the evening news because your kid put a Police Officer's life in jeopardy as they threw their temper tantrum that USED to give them what they wanted at home.
When society has to raise your child because you were too busy to do it, you get what you get.
